FC Barcelona Set to Play First Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend

Barça revealed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in the Spanish league two and a half years following their departure for construction to commence.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside based on approved permits. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a public practice at the Camp Nou in early November. The club said they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
